We were victim to rain, traffic and bad directions but none the less it was a great trip and very successful for our mission. I did the portraits for my good friend's son to get the exposure to how these things go about. So two hours and 200 images later these are some of the ones I came up with. I utilized some alleys that I found very artistically pleasing and it has been a while since I felt good leaving a photo shoot. So big score for Taubman Photography...hey lovin' it. So I am just busting waiting to hear everyone's opinions of the product. It is really hard not to get caught up in Photo Shop so I stuck with things that can be done in a traditional darkroom so remember that little shutter bugs. The above image [the horizontal] well all of the stuff I shot on my D200 in color I masked my subject muted color and for the background I did a desaturate and I am a fan of CONTRAST...totally DIG IT!!! So it worked for this image (I think) like I said I want to hear from my viewers.

This image I played with the contrast and muted some of the color and used a down loadable filter for photo shop that is called dog town...kind of gives that Polaroid look. For those that do not know Polaroid is an "instant" photo in which a lot of photographers used when they shoot conventional large format film well the camera would have a Polaroid back so the image can be viewed instantly. Well the Polaroid print look is pretty trendy/artsy kind of thingy and i have been busting wanting to try it I love it as long as you have the right image to put in it; it can look sexy (nice) if there is a great image to go in it and if the image is shot with a artsy angle.

So SPECIAL THANKS to the beautiful city of San Luis Obispo, CA [a sexy city with great eye catching places to photograph my favorite part of California and the people are wonderful there] and most importantly my subject Julian and his mom Roylan...

Some of My Latest Work

This image was taken on my Nikon D200 the day was over cast (as usual on the central coast) but that helps soften the light and makes nice pictures.
